Compared with masters like Matisse and Picasso by art insiders and collectors at mere age 8, Zoe Yin is one of the rarest art prodigies in the art world. Born into a family with artistic talent in Boston, Zoe is the younger sister of the internationally famed child prodigy artist, poet and song writer, Victoria Yin (www.Victoriayin.com). Today, Zoe just recently turned 9. Her art is already widely collected in USA.
Zoe began drawing when she was only one year old. By age 3, her color drawings of futuristic figures astonished her preschool teachers. At age 4, her rare artistic gift had already manifested itself on her acrylic paintings on canvas. At age 6, she broke the 33 years of history of the Andover Art in the Park event to become the youngest artist ever exhibited, and sold her first painting. At age 8, Zoe broke yet another record and became the youngest artist ever exhibited in the International Art Expo (The previous record was set by her old sister, Victoria Yin at age 10). On the New York Art Expo’s opening day Media Alert, Zoe was featured as “eight year old prodigy whose work is reminiscent of Matisse and Rembrandt” along with three other artists including actress and painter Jane Seymour, and Rolling Stones legendary guitarist and song writer Ronnie Wood. Her art and story as “A Rising Star, Zoe Yin, 8 Year Old” was on the Artist Highlights in the Art Expo 2010 Show Magazine. Zoe became a sensation on the Expo floor.
Most recently Zoe was awarded by the Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education and the National Association for Gifted Education their prestigious Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award and Scholarship. This price is given to only one student in each state per year. It was unprecedented that this prestigious award has gone to the Yin family twice as Victoria Yin also won it when she was 9 years old.
As we are witnessing Zoe’s broad and expressive brush strokes, bold and strong color arrangement, and diving our imaginations into her at once childlike yet extremely sophisticated human forms, and dreamscapes on her canvas, we are witnessing art history being made by the child prodigy siblings, Zoe and Victoria Yin.
